Our client’s property is blessed with towering redwoods in a southwest facing garden. This home is near the base of the Santa Cruz mountains where underground rivers still supply ample water for big trees found in this area. We added redwood understory and on the opposite side, with full western sun, we created a chaparral garden with manzanitas. This garden demonstrates how we can utilize different plant communities of our region that can respond to the many microclimates found here.
